BIG Congrats to Shelly Melvin & Admiral Shamrock for being named Grand Champion and High Point Winners at the Southern Regional 4H Show in Little Rock, AK.
The Wild Hooves 4H Club will resume our monthly meetings the 1st Tuesday evening of each month starting in Septemeber @ 6:30 held at VLRA unless otherwise stated.
ECOSC July 18-19: We had an awesome show. Congratulations to Shelly Melvin and Admiral Shamrock winning High Point Champion and Amy & Erin Belton with Santana's Treat winning Reserve Champion. Jamie Hogan and They Auhl Adore Me won for the seventh time High Point Champion Morgan. Congrats to Amy Belton winning the High Point Champion with Heartland's Contender - undefeated!! Special thanks and congrats to Lee Ann Pace for showing and winning with It's Been Rumored in the Saddle Type Hunter division. Congratulations to Rhonda Armstrong with top ribbons on Mojave and Smoke and Brooks Ruth. Congratulations to Alexa Cavas and Matchplay with top ribbons in saddle seat. Great job Sheeer Triumph aka Anna Nicole in the Park Hore class - what a diva!! Special thanks to Terry Pace of Cedar Rock Horse Farm for all the help!
State 4H Show: July - Congratulations to Shelly Melvin for winning High Point Champion and to Rhonda Armstrong with Mojave for the Reserve. Congratulations to Caroline Silverthorne for going undefeated at both district and state in Academy aboard Starmaker's Saturday Night! Congratulations to Jamie Hogan and They Auhl Adore Me for district wins and top ribbons at State. Great job to all!
ECOSC June 20 - 21: Another great show! Congratulations to Charlie Gates taking reserve out of a huge class of Halter horses with Matchplay. Thanks to Shelly Melvin for showing Matchplay to reserve in Country Pleasure. Congratulations to Amanda Slaten Fraizer for top ribbons aboard Its Been Rumored. Sheer Triumph made her debute in the American Saddlebred classes! Congratulations to Amy Belton with Santana's Treat with a Reserve High Point Champion and with Heartland's Contender with High Point Champion in Pleasure Driving!

4H Club meeting Sat. April 4th @ 4:00 - come vote on a name for the club and bring project books to work on. *Community service project for the month - bring 2 or more can goods for the Wilson Food Bank. *
VLRA is starting a 4H club in Wilson County. We will focus on the horse aspect and meet the qualifications to show at the district 4H show in May along with many other aspects invloving horses. Please join us for an informational meeting for parents only on Wednesday Feb. 25 @ 6:30 at the Wilson County Ag office. For more info contact Holly @ 289-7274.

Calloway's Carillion and Shelly Melvin won the Supreme Championship!!! They Auhl Adore Me and Jamie Hogan won High Point Morgan Champion for the 5th time this year! My Hatteras and Megan Batten won Academy, Rhonda Armstrong and Mojave won Equitation, Caroline Silverthorne showed Starmaker's Saturday Night to a reserve in Academy and he took other reserve honors with Shelly Melvin in the irons for his canter classes. Smoke and Brooks Ruth and Rhonda Armstrong took a well deserved 3rd in Halter out of a huge class.

June 28 - Tri County DP Show- Huge congrats to Megan Batten on LA CLassmate for double wins in Equitation. Owner Brianna Lambries took double wins in Starter Rider walk and trot! Megan also showed her horse My Hatteras to top ribbons in large classes. Caroline Silverthorne showed her Morgan RGR Goldfinger to good rides in the 10 and under and academy classes as well as equitation. Alexa Cavas rode LA classmate to a 2nd in Academy and several other good ribbons on RGR Goldfinger. Stacey Winner was top 3 on her horse PF Chrome Plated in 10 and under, Beginner Rider and Pony. Emma Vick showed PF Chrome Plated to good ribbons in her starter rider classes - way to go! Rhonda Armstrong was back in Hunter Hack after a leave of absence aboard her Morgan Smoke and Brooks Ruth and came back with a good 2nd!
June 20 -21 - We had a great time at the June East Coast Horse Show in Williamston. They Auhl Adore Me and Jamie Hogan came home with High Point Morgan again. Rhonda Armstrong and Mojave were top 2 and 3 in all their classes and her Morgan Belle was top three is large Halter Classes. Amy Belton rode My Hatteras to top ribbons for owner Megan Batten in Country Pleasure and ASB classes as well as Equitation! Brittney Bobbit and Shelly Melvin showed Calloway's Carillion to great rides in the Park Horse Classes. Shelly and her horse Admiral's Shamrock, amateur owned and trained won overall high point for the saddle seat division for the show! Way to go VLRA team - it was a blast!
May 20 - 24 - More congrats to Jamie Hogan and They Auhl Adore Me on Reserve Champions at the Southern States Regional Morgan Show! Rhonda Armstrong showed RGR Goldfinger in huntseat to a reserve, and 2 sixthes and seventh is some very tough classes!
May 18 - 19 - Congrats to Rhonda Armstrong and Mojave on 6 undefeated classes at the District 4H show and Wake County Youth Show! They came out as the Grand Champions!
APRIL 26 - 27
What a wonderful show we had in Williamston on the East Coast Circuit! Congrats Armstrong and Mojave and They Auhl Adore Me with Jamie Hogan with lots of blue ribbons! They Auhl Adore Me and Jamie Hogan took High Point Morgan and came in 3rd overall in the Saddle Seat division. Congrats to Shelly Melvin and Admiral's Shamrock for reserve high point riding with her dad! Shelly showed Calloway's Carillion to two outstanding reserves in the Park horse class - some tough competition. Caroline Silverthorne had an outstanding day on Sunday aboard her Morgan RGR Goldfinger - who was reserve in the Morgan point standings. Congrats to Megan Batten and My Hatteras for great rides both days - her equitation has come a long way from last year!!
March 30th @ 3:00 - 4H horse judging clinic on saddle seat, saddle type halter, country pleasure and English Pleasure classes. Demonstration for Edgecombe County 4H club - all VLRA customers are welcome to attend!

Great 1st apperance for They Auhl Adore Me and ranking right with Majove! Smoke and Brooks Ruth - great Halter demo and way to go with with the QHs in showmanship! RGR Goldfinger was a star!
